Gladys C. Griffith, age 100, of Hillsboro, died Friday evening, December 2, 2005 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.  She was born on June 21, 1905, in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Kirby and Lida (Michael) Chaney.  She had worked at many various manufacturing and retail businesses in or around Hillsboro during all of her working years.  She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and the Highland County Senior Citizens.  She is survived by two sons, John W. (Helen) Griffith of Hillsboro and Marion “Jim” Griffith of Hillsboro, a daughter-in-law, Katherine “Kate” Griffith of Hillsboro, a brother, Lowell Chaney of Hillsboro, eight grandchildren, Jay (Charlotte) Cooper of Hillsboro, Della (Raymond) Wampler of Clayton, Ohio, Linda (Danny Dussell) Cooper of Ft. Lauderdale, Tom (Terry) Griffith of Hillsboro, Dennis (Karen) Griffith of Hillsboro, David (Rebecca) Griffith of Hillsboro, Jackie Potts of Hillsboro, John (Hallie) Griffith II of Hamilton, nineteen great grandchildren, Donna Williamson of Hillsboro, Greg (Angie) Nartker of Waverly, Mike (Amy) Nartker of Hillsboro, Mia (Phillip) Lutton of Hillsboro, Bradley (Candy Brown) Griffith of Hillsboro, April (Josh) Storms of Hillsboro, Jamie Williamson of Ft. Lauderdale Fla., Heather Miller of Middletown, Michael (Erica Barnett) McVeigh of Hamilton, Alyssa Griffith of Hillsboro, Kyle Nowak of Hillsboro, Joshua Griffith of Hillsboro, Seth Potts of Hillsboro, Sydney Potts of Hillsboro, Maddie Wampler of Clayton, Josh Wampler of Clayton, Ryan Dussell of Ft. Lauderdale, Kevin Best of Mowrystown, Craig Best of Hillsboro, five great-great grandchildren, Makaela Nartker of Waverly, Tyler Nartker of Waverly, Schuyler Griffith of Hillsboro, Trinity Faith Storms of Hillsboro, Jazmine Miller of Middletown, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, a special granddaughter, Kandi Riley and all the aids at the Laurels who called her “Granny”.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence B. Griffith, Sr., a son, Laurence B. “Bill” Griffith, Jr., a grandson, James “Jamie” Griffith, a brother Norman Chaney, and three sisters, Madge Griffith, Reba Harris and Leon Purdy.   Funeral services for Mrs. Griffith will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Marvin Wilson will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Memorial donations may be made to the Hillsboro Church of Christ, 155 W.
