We were saddened to hear of your loss and wish to express our sincerest condolances to the family.
However, as Nathaniel Hawthorn so aptly stated, "We sometimes congratulate ourselves at the moment of waking from a troubled dream...it may be so at the moment of death."
Or how about the words of Rabindranath Tagore? "Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come."
And finally, the words of Thoreau: "Only nature has a right to grieve perpetually, for she only is innocent. Soon the ice will melt, and the blackbirds sing along the river which he frequented, as pleasantly as ever. The same everlasting serenity will appear in this face of God, and we will not be sorrowful, if he is not."
My best memory of Charlie was one night when he drove me home from the Boy Scouts, which Tim and I were both involved in at the time. To be honest with you, I was scared of the guy. He was always stern looking and intimidating and I, being young and naive in the ways of the human heart, thought he must have been one of the toughest old hombres around. Well, anyway, that night changed my thinking about him forever. He talked about Tim that night...for quite some time. I realized just how lucky they were to have each other and was truly touched by his words.
God bless you all and know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
