Joseph D. “Joe” Gall, Sr., age 59, of Martinsville, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was born November 14, 1943 in Berrysville, Ohio the son of the late George W. and Mabel G. (Miller) Gall. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, formerly employed by Scott and Dillon Tobacco Company, formerly owned and operated the Countryside Inn near Rocky Fork Lake, the Wooden Spoon Restaurant in Hillsboro and the Quick Stop Food Mart in Martinsville. He is survived by three children, Joseph D. (Melanie Hull) Gall, Jr. of Sabina, Tina (Mark) Shaw of Wilmington and George Douglas (Melissa Sue) Gall of Wilmington; two step-children Roger Allen (Whitney) Minner of Chichester, Pennsylvania and Todd Aaron Minner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three brothers George (Sharon) Gall of Hillsboro, Tom (Ruby) Gall of Hillsboro and Vic (Carla) Gall of Berrysville; and three grandchildren Derek Bates, Joseph Blake Gall and Aaron Cole Gall. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2003 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery in Berrysville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
