Tennie Fugate, age 78, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday morning, March 16, 2010 at Vitas Hospice-Drake Center in Cincinnati.  She was born November 7, 1931, in Gay’s Creek, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Sammy and Corry (Smith) West.  She loved growing flowers and gardening, was known for her biscuits and gravy, and to her family was “Dr. Tennie”.  She is survived by a brother and special sister-in-law, Willie and Pauline West of Cincinnati, two special nieces, Charlene Wilson and Wanda Eaton, both of Hillsboro, two special nephews, Frank Brown, of Hillsboro and Carl (Linda) West of Cincinnati, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Irb Fugate, who passed away December 12, 1996, a sister, Zonie West, and two brothers, Sammy Jr. West and Lewis Jacob West.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Rev. Harold Braley will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
