Burnice A. “Bernie” Frye,
age 88, of Leesburg, died
Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at his residence.
He was born March 24, 1918, in Pike County, Ohio the son of the late
Aaron M. and Anna Mae Marshall Frye. He
had attended the Leesburg Wesleyan Church.
Mr. Frye had been a minister with the Christ Gospel Missions Church, had
worked for the B&O Railroad, Dewey’s Elevator in Leesburg, and retired
from Mac Tools in Sabina. He
enjoyed farming and raising animals and was a very talented harmonica player.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol (Howard) Davidson of Leesburg, and
Linda Foster of Leesburg; two sons, John Frye of Washington C.H., and Davis
(Loraine) Frye of Hillsboro; two sisters, Beatrice Wardlow of East Monroe, and
Jean Havens of Tipp City; five grandchildren, Lora Morgan, of Leesburg, Jerry
(Ann) Edwards, Jr. of Leesburg, Mike (Tammy) Davidson, of Samantha, Steve (Mindy)
Frye of Washington C.H., and Dr. Tim (Kristy) Frye of Circleville; five step
grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his wife, Lily
Shoemaker Frye, on January 13, 1984; five brothers, Byrl, Arthur, Carl, Rufus,
and Bernard Frye; five sisters, Anna Faye Havens, Ethel Hollon, Margaret Frye,
Clara Fordyce, and Sylvia Maupin. Funeral
services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at
the Leesburg Wesleyan Church. The
Reverend Steve Sokola will officiate. Burial
will follow in the Hightop Cemetery, in Samantha, where the Highland County
Honor Guard will accord Military Honors.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at
1:00 p.m. The Turner Funeral Home,
