John R. Fisher age 77 of Hillsboro died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born July 28, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Forrest and Dorothy Hope Fisher. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps serving during World War II and had retired as a mechanic for Hillsboro Transportation and Moon’s Tractor Company. He is survived by his wife, Betty Willis Fisher whom he had married on June 21, 1947, his sons and daughters-in-laws, John Fisher of Mesa, Arizona Jamie and Patricia Fisher of Loveland, Jeffery and Monday Fisher of Peebles, daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Charles Shoemaker of Waverly, Beverly Rose of New Vienna, Lisa and Ed Kelley of Belfast, Amy and Art Crone of Hillsboro, Tara and Joe Wilson of Hillsboro, Jennifer and Steve Rodgers of Hillsboro, sisters, Lora Schoup of Tucson, Arizona, Martha Shultz of Eaton, Ohio, twenty-three grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney and Jerry Fisher. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Walter Tolley will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
