John Arthur Farmer Sr. age 61 of Peebles died Tuesday, March 21 at the Akron City Hospital. He was born September 17, 1944 in Fairfield, Ohio the son of the late Arthur and Annabelle Hilderbrand Farmer. Mr. Farmer had recently retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as a Project Supervisor. He was a member of the Mansfield American Legion and was a U. S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Dalton) Farmer, whom he had married on August 7, 1965 in Pike County, one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and David Katz of Doylestown, Ohio, two sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny A. Farmer Jr. of Peebles and Jerrett and Alicia Farmer of Los Angeles, CA., one grandson, Dawson Katz of Doylestown, Ohio, one brother, Leonard Farmer of Pike County, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon Grovesner of Pike County and Tami and Mark Keplinger of Pike County. Mr. Farmer had requested to be cremated that no public funeral service or visitation be observed. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of John’s life on Saturday afternoon, March 25th at his home at 1225 Dry Bone Road, Peebles, Ohio.
