Richard “Dick” Fair age 78 of Hillsboro, formerly of Arcanum, Ohio died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro. He was born June 21, 1927 in Gettysburg, Ohio the son of the late Minor and Viola Reck Fair. Mr. Fair had worked for the Textron Corporation in Greenville for forty-six years. He was a member of the Northview Baptist Church in Hillsboro, a previous member of the Pleasantview Missionary Church in Greenville, was a 1946 graduate of Franklin High School and had been a member of the Voting Board of the Wayne Hospital in Greenville for thirty years.. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hofacker Valentine Fair whom he had married on June 26, 1971 in Stillvideo, Ohio, one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Evelyn Valentine of Hillsboro, one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Jo and Jerry Rieman of Greenville, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Fair of Gettysburg, Ohio, Ned Fair of Bradford, Ohio and two sisters, Louise Frey of Covington, Ohio and Roberta Warner of Greenville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lyle, Norman, Gene, Donald and Carl Fair and one sister, Lilia Irene Fair. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10th at the Northview Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Brother Jeff Griffin will officiate. Burial will follow with a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Abbottsville Cemetery in Darke County. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Northview Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
