Claar H. Ervin, 84, of Highland died Friday, May 28, 2004 at Highland District Hospital.  He was born April 17, 1920 in Wellston, Ohio, the son of the late Leo and Mollie (Patton) Ervin.  Mr. Ervin was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corps during WW II from 1943 to 1945.  He retired as a machinist from North American Rockwell, (now Boeing), in Columbus.  He was a member of Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1598 in Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Darlene (Noel) Ervin, a son, Steven (Sandy) Ervin of Mason, a granddaughter, Stacey Ervin of Florence, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers Melvin Ervin and Darrell Ervin, and two sisters Carole Chatfield and Ruth Wills.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 2, 2004 at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. Rev. Robert Carroll and Don Spurgeon will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Oak Grove Cemetery.  Military honors will be provided by the Highland County Honor Guard.   Friends may call Tuesday, June 1, 2004 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, 10449 Barger Road, Leesburg, Ohio 45135.
