Madalyn Ellis, age 89, of Leesburg, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Highland House in Hillsboro. She was born July 1, 1915, in Leesburg, the daughter of the late Frank L. and Henrietta Jenkins Ladd.  She was a 1933 Graduate of Leesburg High School, a member of the Leesburg Friends Church, and had retired from the Clinton Memorial Hospital.  She is survived by four children, Nancy Kay Pitzer and her husband Ronald of Minnesota, Martha Ann Shirk and her husband Kenneth of Florida, Charles “Bucky” Ellis and his wife Judy of Leesburg, and Frances Thompson of Wilmington; twelve grandchildren, Randall Pitzer, Marc Pitzer and his wife Janice, Daniel Shirk, Andrea Wright and her husband Brad, Meridith Shirk, Ricky Shirk, Sina Shirk, Wes Ellis and his wife Becky, Beth Ann Allering and her husband Michael, Tyler Thompson, Wendy Thompson, and Eric Thompson and his wife Melanie; three great grandchildren, Amber Wright, Aziza Pitzer, and Kenny Ray Shirk; seven step-great grandchildren, Skye Allering, Erin Green, Kelsey Green, Megan Rice, C.B. Rice, Mari Rice and Christopher Rice.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her Husband Charles Donald “Don” Ellis on November 18, 2001, and her son-in-law Jerry David Thompson on August 28, 2001.  Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Leesburg Friends Church.  Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate.  Burial will follow at a later date in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the Leesburg Friends Church.  Memorial donations may be made to the Fairfield Meeting House Restoration Fund, P.O. I will never forget how my Grandma always peaked on my neck, her loving touch and how she always cooked for me a frog in hole when I came to vist them.
