Charles Kash Elam age 64 of Hillsboro died Monday morning, March 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 8, 1945 in Denniston, Kentucky the son of the late Walter Henry and Minnie Clay Brooks Elam. Mr. Elam had worked as a pipefitter and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Donna McLarnon Elam whom he had married on February 4, 1988, one daughter, Tammi Elam of Hillsboro, one stepdaughter, Christina Burbier of Massachusetts, one stepson, Chris Rossi of Maine, three grandchildren, one sister, Nora (Lunsford) Garrett of Hillsboro, two half brothers, Dale (Debbie) McClure of Hillsboro, Jack (Tanya) Butchick of Maryland and several nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Elam. Private services will be held Wednesday at the convenience of the family at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Military honors will be presented by the Highland County Honor Guard. Rev. Chuck Shonkwiler will officiate. Cremation will follow. There will be no visitation.
