Opal H. Eaglin age 83 of Lynchburg died Friday afternoon, June 3, 2005 at Heartland of Hillsboro. She was born September 2, 1921 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Herbert and Louella Ellis Hendee. On April 29, 1943 in Lynchburg she married Thomas Eaglin who preceded her in death in 1964. She was a member of the First Church of Christ of Lynchburg, an active member of the former O.E.S. of Lynchburg, Clinton County Farm Bureau, retired from the former Old Farmer’s Exchange / First Security Bank after 24 years of service and a member of many other organizations. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Connie Hamm of Lynchburg, Chris and William Damron of New Vienna, son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna Eaglin of Wilmington, grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Bates of Enon, OH, Craig Flora of Lynchburg, Tracy (Mark) Gross of Milford, Amy Griffith of Cincinnati, and Ashton Griffith of New Vienna, step grandchildren, Brad Damron of KY., Andy Damron of FL., Shane Hibbs of NY., Chad Hibbs of Port William, and Mark Hibbs of AL., great-grandchildren. Mady and Sophie Bates, Kyla and Isabella Gross and 6 step great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wendell Hendee and Kenneth Hendee. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Rick Godlove will officiate. Connie, Kristie, Kim and Craig: I haven't seen Opal for several months, saw her at the home one day and she actually remembered me. I can remember that friendly face at the bank and how excited she was to be involved in your lives.
