Lester
Fountain “Shorty” Davis,
age 73, of
Hillsboro, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at his residence. He was born July 5,
1933 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Raymond and Judith Lightner Davis. He
was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict as a
cook. After his service duty he worked for Frisch’s Restaurants. He was a
member of the Hillsboro V.F.W. Post #9094. He is survived by his best friend
and companion of 38 years, Joyce Posey; eleven children, Lester A. (Joyce) Davis
of Leesburg, James (Lisa) Davis of Sabina, Ralph (Sharon) Davis of Weaver,
Alabama, Bill (Tracy) Posey of Mt. Orab, Robert (Julie) Posey of Frankfort,
Indiana, Grover (Kay) Posey of Hillsboro, J.R. Caudill of Dallas, Texas, Ivis
Caudill of Middletown, Ohio, John (Tammy) Caudill of Hillsboro, Paul Caudill of
Dallas, Texas, and Sarah Blazer of Frankfort, Indiana; 25 grandchildren and 16
great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his
half-brother Robert “Duke” Sloane. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday,
January 25, 2007 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Foster Walters
will officiate. Burial with Military Honors provided by the Highland County
Honor Guard will follow in the Barnes Cemetery near Fairview. Visitation will
be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
