
Evelyn Mae Davidson, age 91, passed away at home in Silver City, New Mexico on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. She was born April 14, 1920, in Hillsboro, a daughter of the late Leo and Jessie (Foster) McClure. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union and The Church of the Nazarene in Silver City. She played the piano and was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the Walnut Hill Church. She worked hard all her life, whether it was on the family farm or serving her family and those in her community. For the last 20 years, she worked every morning with her son Leo at his business, the Dairy Queen. The workers named her Aunt Bea, a name that she liked. She crocheted many afghans for family and friends, loved to read and was a good cook. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She is survived by her sons Everett “Ed” Davidson and his wife Lynne and Leo Davidson and his wife Pam, both of Silver City; five grandchildren, Sandra Martin of Silver City, Michael Davidson and his wife Glinda of Tucson, Arizona, Troy Davidson of Phoenix, Arizona, Tamara Cruse and her husband Gerry of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Amber Davidson of Tempe, Arizona; five great grandchildren, Tim Martin of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Robert Martin of Silver City, Taylor and Cameron Davidson of Tucson, Arizona, and Mikaela Davidson of Chillicothe, Illinois. She also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Carper Davidson, a brother, Wayne McClure and sisters, Rowena Pitzer and Mary Case. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, 10449 Barger Road, Leesburg, Ohio 45135. Pastor Bob Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Ed, Leo, and family, Sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I remember Evelyn and Carper as well as your Grandmother McClure and other family members of yours having grown up right up the street from your Grandmother McClure, Aunt Rowena Pitzer, and Grandfather Oscar Davidson.
