Richard L. Davenport, age 73, of Lynchburg, died Monday evening, February 22, 2010 at his residence.  He was born May 30, 1936, in Deer Park, Ohio, a son of the late William G. Sr. and Lillian (Hayes) Davenport.  He retired in 1991 from Cincinnati Milacron as a supervisor with thirty-seven years of service.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He was a member of the Faith Community Church in Hillsboro.  On June 15, 1957, in Clarksville, he married his wife of fifty-two years, Dorothy (Bamber) Davenport, who survives.  He is also survived by two sons, Michael L. Davenport of Lynchburg, Scott B. Davenport and his wife Gaylene of Hillsboro, a daughter, Pam Collins and her husband Doug of Lynchburg, six grandchildren, David (Jessica) Davenport of Milford, Daniel Davenport of Lynchburg, Alan Davenport of Hawaii, Brandon Collins, Aaron Collins and Courtney Collins, all of Lynchburg, three step-grandchildren, Kristie Finnegan of Greenfield, Lindsay Finnegan of Hillsboro and Sean Finnegan of Hillsboro, two great grandchildren, Tyler Jordan Davenport and Kayla Nicole Davenport, and three step great grandchildren, Kylie Dun, Kennadie Lee, Kamrie Lee and Alayah Rickman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Robin Leigh Davenport, three sisters, Viola Kessinger, Ida Belle Boehle, and Louella Steele, and two brothers, William G. Davenport, Jr. and Charles Davenport.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.  Pastors Calvin Martin and Chuck Tabor will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Troutwine Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the funeral home in Lynchburg.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Care Hospice, P.O. Box 123, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
