Harold J. Dalton, age 78, of Seaman, died Friday, April 11, 2003. He was born September 12, 1924 in Wingate, Indiana, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Adams) Dalton. He was a self-employed business owner most of his life. He had owned and operated Dalton’s Grocery in Mowrystown for the last 30 years. He is survived by Ruby (Burnell) Dalton, his spouse and companion of 58 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Darryl Cox of Seaman; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Cheryl Dalton of Charlotte, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Bernice Dalton, of Lebanon, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Bryan) Boyer, of Hillsboro, Christopher (Jessica) Cox, of Hillsboro, and Troy Pilar of Charlotte, Tennessee; and five great grandchildren, Kelsey and Keisha Crago, Zeta Boyer, Ian Stonerock and Haley Cox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one infant son Troy Dalton, two brothers Thomas M. and Herbert Dalton, and one sister Dorothy Nealis. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. The Rev. Elizabeth Looney will officiate with the assistance of William Reynolds and Roy Middleton. Burial will follow in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.I have known Harold for the last 7 or 8 years.I tried to get to the visitation but was unable because of my job.I will not be able to make it tomarrow because of work.I know how you feel because we lost our little boy (Aaron)on April 29th. of last year.We only had him for aprox.16HRS.When I heard what happened to Harold it hurt just as bad.I cried cause it felt like I had lost a family member.He was one of a kind and there will never be another one like him.Well,I better go.Sorry for your loss and I hope you can find some clouser.Bryan Hatton & Family.
