Paul Edward Copas age 71 of Hillsboro died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 29 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born March 22, 1931 in McDermott, Ohio the son of Alfred W. and Viola (Strickland) Copas. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a retired construction worker. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Viars) Copas whom he had married on March 14, 1953 in Portsmouth, Ohio, one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Lacy Blevins of Hillsboro, three sons, Jesse and Cathy Copas of Maineville, Carl Copas of Hillsboro, Rick and Ola Copas of Bainbridge, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Francis Copas of Dayton and three sisters, Carol Bentley of Dayton, Sara Mitchell of Dayton and Shirley Short of Sinking Spring. In addition to his parents, three sisters, Goldie Woods, Vadie Perrey and Bula Pirce, preceded him in death. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Elder Glenn Miller and Elder George Coburn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery near Rarden. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
