Martha S. Chaney age 89 of Hillsboro, Ohio and Green Valley, Arizona died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Casda de Sonshine in Green Valley, Arizona. She was born November 10, 1915 in Alliance, Ohio the daughter of the late Dr. Henry M. and Bessie (Thompson) Schweinsberger. Mrs. Chaney was a graduate of Mt. Union College and a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority (Gamma Chapter), the Hillsboro Towne Club, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hillsboro and St. Francis-In-The-Valley in Green Valley. She had been a teacher in the Hillsboro City Schools and the Highland County Schools. She is survived by her husband, John N. “Jack” Chaney whom she had married on August 31, 1940. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hillsboro. The Rev. John G. Carson, Rector Emeritus will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s National Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
