Virgil Ray Caudill, age 78, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born April 25, 1926 in Portsmouth, Ohio the son of the late Ora and Goldie Porter Caudill. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps., and a member of the American Legion Post #762 in New Lebanon, Ohio. He is survived by one son, Jerry Caudill of Hillsboro; two daughters, Judy (Terry) Fisher of Hillsboro and Regina Potts of Hillsboro; two sisters, Emogene (Ramah) Frazier of Portsmouth and Shirley Logan of Springfield; five grandchildren, Barbara Henley of Hillsboro, John (Lori) Henley of Mt. Orab, Nathan Fisher of Cincinnati, Danny (Amy) Pollard of Hillsboro, and Karena Pollard of Tennessee; eight great grandchildren, Krystal Bolender, Ashley Henley, Kyle Henley, Brook Henley, Riley Fisher, Jordan Fisher, Ashley Pollard and Tanea Caudill. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lillie Mae Hall Caudill on May 26, 1994; one daughter, Glenna Barbara Pollard in 1996; one son Arnold Ray Caudill in 1965; one sister Cora Mae Caudill; and step-mother Nancy Caudill. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Bruce McDowell will officiate. Committal services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Franklin Furnace near Portsmouth.
