Mary Alice Carter age 91 of Hillsboro died Thursday evening, March 30, 2006 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. She was born August 20, 1914 in Highland County, Ohio the daughter of the late Glenn and Mary Elizabeth (Morris) Huff. Mrs. Carter had provided babysitting service for many children in the area. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Joyce Ann Carter of Cynthiana, Ohio, three grandchildren, Deborah (Michael Jenkins) Carter of Cynthiana, Rick M. (Sandra) Carter of Hillsboro, Michael A. (Tonya) Carter of Greenfield, two great grandchildren, Sandra A. Wood and Michelle Penwell and nine great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Carter in 1939, three brothers, Harry, Clarence and Roger Huff, two sisters, Catherine Cox and Edna Woolard. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Cynthiana Cemetery. Rev. Homer Swearingen will officiate. There is no visitation. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
