Thomas R. Carroll Sr. age 71 of Hillsboro died Sunday morning, May 30, 2004 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born June 4, 1932 in Rainsboro, Ohio the son of the late William Foster and Bessie (Brown) Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a retired foreman with the Highland Stone Division Company. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161. He is survived by one daughter, Sandy (Floyd) Johnson of Hillsboro, two sons, Tom “Deke” Carroll Jr. and Billy (Regina Fetters) Carroll of Hillsboro, six grandchildren, Carroll Jane Hamilton, Josie Lea Coldiron, Cassie Marie Carroll, Chad William Carroll, Clayton Lee Carroll, Jessica Marie Smithson, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Betty (Virgil “Shorty”) Robinson of Hillsboro, Sara (Russell) Nace of Hillsboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Groves Carroll on September 10, 1996, one daughter, Pamela Carroll, two sisters, Delberta “Tudy” Carroll and Ethel Hatfield and four brothers, Theodore “Speed” Carroll, Warren, Delbert and Edward Carroll. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Brother Wiley B. Perkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Fraternal Order of Eagles Memorial Services will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
