James H. Burress, age 63, of Hillsboro died Saturday morning, December 7, 2002 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio. He was born November 26, 1939 near Yolyn, West Virginia the son of the late James W. and Pearl E. (Grant) Burress. He an Army and Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was honored by the American Red Cross for his contribution of over sixteen gallons in blood donations. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Wilcox) Burress whom he had married on November 26, 1975 in Hillsboro, one son, Herbert Leonard of Hillsboro, one daughter, Stacey Biscoe of Dayton, six grandchildren, Kaleb and Jacob Leonard and Heather, Joseph, Matthew and Sarah Biscoe, three brothers, Charles Burress of Springhill, Florida, Jerry Burress of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and Glen Burress of Cincinnati, four sisters, Helen Hamilton, Maggie Schoettle and Nancy Lawson of Cincinnati and Betty Alcorn of Mason. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Chuck Schoettle will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow in the Dunn’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
