Clarence F. Burkett age 89 of Milford, Ohio died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born September 24, 1921 in Van Lear, Kentucky the son of the late Samuel and Nora Wood Burkett. Mr. Burkett had retired as an Auditor for the State of Ohio. He and his wife Anita had lived in Hillsboro for forty-five years and had owned and operated the Hillsboro Dry Cleaners for seventeen of those years. As residents of Hillsboro they were members of the Hillsboro First Presbyterian Church and he was a past member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club and the Hillsboro Elks Lodge #361. He is a present member of the Milford First United Methodist Church. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He is survived by his wife Anita Quagliotto Burkett, one daughter, Nancy (Cliff) Browning of Milford, one son, Jim (Diane) Burkett of The Woodlands, Texas, five grandchildren, Scott (Kolleen) Tener of Mason, Melissa (Brett) Bulcroft of The Woodlands, Texas, Kenneth (Jennifer) Tener of Gainesville, Florida, Greg (Amanda) Burkett of The Woodlands, Texas, Kelly Browning of Milford, ten great grandchildren, Garrett, Layne and Mitchell Tener of Mason, Cameron and Christopher Tener of Gainesville, Florida, Caitlin, Jacob, Matthew Bulcroft and Benjamin and Cameron Burkett of The Woodlands, Texas and one sister, Josephine Daniel of Corbin, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Minerva Rucker, Bertha Boyd and Myrtle Van Hoose and three brothers, Virgil Cecil and Ollie Burkett. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Robert Lovell will officiate. Burial with military honors conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 28th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
