Charles Jackson Buchanan age 80 of Hillsboro died Sunday, July 29, 2002 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born August 12, 1921 in Pomeroton, KY. the son of the late William and Laura Shull Buchanan. He was an active member and Ministerial servant of the local chapter of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; he was a retired construction worker and spot welder and a W.W.II veteran in the Army receiving 5 bronze service stars and a Purple Heart Medal. His wife, Blanche Helton Buchanan whom he married December 22, 1945 in Campbell County, KY, one brother, Jim Buchanan of Waynesville, three sisters, Ruth Whitney of Dayton, Mary Campbell of Waynesville, Esther Bohslouv of Seattle, WA, and two grandchildren, Kevin and Melinda Buchanan, survives him. Along with his parents a son, David Alan Buchanan and two brothers, Carl and John Buchanan, preceded him in death. At his request of cremation, a memorial service will take place 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5241 St. Rt. 247, Hillsboro, OH. Brother John Dobbins will speak.
