Clifton L. Bonnell, age 87, of Hillsboro, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at Traditions at Chillicothe. He was born July 14, 1922 in Ashland County, Ohio the son of the late Glenn and Marie Tanner Bonnell. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during W.W.II. He was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist had driven school bus for Wooster, Hillsboro, and Greenfield Schools, worked for the Ohio State University Swine Department in Wooster which is now called the Ohio Research and Development Center, was a livestock judge in Ohio for 25 years judging sheep and swine, auctioneer in Ohio for 15 years, and a livestock breeder of sheep and swine for more than 20 years. He is survived by two daughters, Janet (Basil) Butler, and Darlene Cadle both of Chloe, West Virginia; son Kenneth L. (Bonnita) Bonnell of Marysville, Ohio; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister Lorene Leatherow of Mansfield, Ohio. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Hilda Howman Bonnell who died March 8, 2002; and two brothers, Doyle and Guy Bonnell. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Congress Community Cemetery in Congress, Ohio. The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family. To the children of Cliff Bonnell, Cliff was a very nice man I met a few years ago at Kroger. Always laughing and smiling! I was sorry to hear of his passing. My Sympathy to you all. I will always remember this kind man.
