Loranzie Dow Blair, age 75, of Highland County, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born February 1, 1932 in Johnson County, Kentucky the son of the late Darius and Norma Ramey Blair. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict; a member of the McMakin Masonic Lodge in Mt. Healthy; Valley of Cincinnati Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, and the Syrian Shrine in Cincinnati. Mr. Blair retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Peaslee Blair; seven children, Lula Blair of Middletown, William (Debra) Blair of Middletown, Michael (Jacquie) Blair of Fayetteville, Flora Jo (Bill) Stark of Kentucky, Dean Blair of Tennessee, Kenneth (Amy) Encinas of South Carolina, and Wayne Encinas of Wilmington; three sisters Sarah Fairchild of Paintsville, Kentucky, Opal Conley of Kentucky, and Gracie (Eli) Ratliff of Paintsville, Kentucky; one brother Darius Blair of Paintsville, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by an infant son Junior Blair, and six siblings. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Matt Burns of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. The Highland County Honor Guard will accord military honors following the services at the funeral home. Following the wishes of Mr. Blair, he will be cremated after services have taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
