John David Benkiel, age 41, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He was born January 7, 1963, in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late Jacques and Regina Gladstone Benkiel. He was an insurance agent and a member of Lions Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a life member of Alpha Phi Omega. He is survived by three brothers, Daniel (Jill) Benkiel, of Hillsboro, Mark (Penny) Benkiel of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and Sam (Donna) Benkiel of Durham, North Carolina, a nephew Jacquob Benkiel and two nieces Amanda & Lindsey Benkiel, family friend Charles Stultz, special friend Valerie Howard, many special friends from the Wilmington Dialysis Center and extended church family at the Hillsboro Church of Christ. Per his wishes, Mr. Benkiel was cremated. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at The Hillsboro Church of Christ. David Stokes will officiate.
