Kenneth E. Ballein age 64 of Hillsboro died Friday, November 17, 2006 at his residence. He was born November 10, 1942 in Hillsboro, Ohio the son of the late Donald H. “Jack” and Martha Taylor Ballein. Mr. Ballein had worked with the Gross Feibel and Williamson Safe Companies in Hillsboro. He was a member of the Hillsboro Eagles Aerie 1161. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Smith Ballein whom he had married on September 5, 1988 in Maysville, Kentucky, two daughters, Vickie Oppy of Hillsboro, Valerie (Bruce) Watson of Hillsboro, two sons, Mike (Beth) Ballein of Hillsboro and Elisha (Brook) Orth of Cincinnati, eight grandchildren, Kenneth Phillips, Amanda Copeland, Brandy Oppy, Rick and Ryan Chaney, Logan Watson and Sydney and Lucas Orth, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara (Eldon) Schraw of Hillsboro, Mary Ballein of Hillsboro, five brothers, Howard (Vivian) Ballein of East Lansing, Michigan, Don (Rosalie) Ballein of Hillsboro, Floyd and Sandra Ballein of Ames, Iowa, David (Sandra) Ballein of Hillsboro and John (Loretta) Ballein of East Lansing, Michigan. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21st at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Jim Sollars will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the highland County Animal Shelter, 9357 S.
